Marty, Evelyn and I went for a long snorkel along the coast, from the house down to Shark’s Bay, not the place name that fills you with confidence about snorkelling but there you are. We saw a juvenile eagle ray, only about 12 inches across and a couple of very relaxed green turtles that swam right up to check us out. One was busy feeding on algae and was getting battered by the waves breaking onto the reef, but was determined to feed on this particular spot of algae and wouldn’t swim away. We watched her for ages.

I flew over the Dole Plantation fields as the pineapples are growing in beautiful geometric patterns and I have had it in mind to photograph them since we first drove past a few days ago.

I’m doing a lot of traveling and diving this year and enjoying every minute of it.
